FALL FEST PHOTOS ARE HERE!
The 2009 Fall Fest was on Saturday, November
14 by the neighborhood pool. Jennifer Blanchard and Hyon
Chin Keoughan worked tirelessly to create a festive atmosphere
with plenty of fun activities for everyone there.
A big thank you goes to James Keoughan of
Rd/Max Real Estate for sponsoring one of the ever-popular
bounce houses!
PHOTOS are here!
Thanks go to Jennifer for the pictures.
KINDERGARTEN PHOTOS
Photos from the Kindergarten Round-Up and Back
to School Social are
HERE. Social Chair Jennifer Blanchard took many
cheerful photos to memorialize the event.
BUNCO GROUP
The Stone Lakes Bunco club is looking for some new members, both
permanent and substitute, to join in on the fun and
laughter. They meet in the neighborhood with rotating houses on
the 2nd Monday of each month. (The houses themselves do
not rotate, but the location of each party does!!... sorry, I
couldn't resist.)
Participation costs only $5, and they
will even teach you how to play! If you are interested,
please
contact
Beth Smietana.
ANNUAL NEWCOMERS' SOCIAL
The Annual "Welcome the Newbies"
party was another enjoyable Stone Lakes event.
This, the 7th annual celebration being hosted by Ed and Monica
Richmond, included a nice variety of wines, appetizers,
music, and new friends.
Many thanks to Ed and Monica
Richmond for graciously hosting this Stone Lakes Tradition once
again!

to make sure every area of the pools, decking, and building are
in tip-top shape for your enjoyment. Kendall deserves MANY
THANKS for his impeccable work.

HELP ANIMAL RESCUE FOR
FREE
There are so many animal lovers in Stone
Lakes that the following should be of interest to most of you.
Please click here to visit the Animal Rescue Website and
click on the purple rectangle in the top right section of the
page. This triggers a donation of food from pet-food
manufacturers (and other advertisers) for neglected and
abandoned animals. You can click once EVERY DAY!
Please put the link above into your favorites and help them as
often as you can. It only takes a few seconds.
Thanks so much!
You can help spread the
word by copying and pasting these three paragraphs and
emailing them to several friends in your email address book.
It will only take a few minutes, yet it will make a real
difference in the lives of helpless animals.
FUN SPRING
EVENTS
Social Committee Directors
Dahlia and Jennifer have lined up dates for our nice variety of
springtime neighborhood events.
The Easter Egg Hunt for
children was great fun for many kids in our community. Thanks go
to Jennifer for taking a few dozen pictures. SEE
PICTURES HERE!
Saturday morning, April
18th was our springtime neighborhood-wide garage sale
event. Despite the cloudy and slightly drizzly weather, we
had a good turnout. For newcomers, we advertise this event and draw
buyers from a wide area. Each family that wants to sell
items should place them on their own driveway, be sure they're
clean, organized, and priced right... then enjoy the inflow of
cash! Good, useable leftovers can be donated to
Angel's
Attic in Grapevine (817-251-9451). There is also a
Goodwill drop site on Rte 26 in Colleyville, just across from
the light at Pleasant Run/White Chapel Rd.
Get your sleeping bags,
flashlights, tents, and marshmallows out, and brush up on your
ghost stories! The Neighborhood Campout was on
Saturday night, May 16th.
A "COOL" event all the kids
enjoy is the "End of School Ice Cream Social". It all
happened on Friday, June 5th. This was at the
pool.
Again, email questions
or offers of help to Jennifer and Dahlia at
social2008@stonelakes.net
.
NEW BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE
This group is active again,
and we can expect a noticeable improvement in the appearance of
the common areas, especially at both entrances. Barbara
King is leading the effort, and she welcomes your assistance.
Do you have an eye for landscaping or gardening? Contact
Barbara at
Beautify@stonelakes.net
Teens can earn service hours
for certain tasks such as spreading mulch and weeding flower
beds.
TODDLERS PLAYGROUP TOP
We invite you to
join the Stone Lakes Neighborhood Playgroup. The kids range in
age from newborn through kindergarten, and the moms enjoy it
almost as much as the kids do. We meet on Friday mornings,
usually from 10:00 am until noon. Our favorite places include
local parks, playgrounds, each others' houses, and other
kid-friendly spots. Some members come every week, some only on
occasion. We look forward to welcoming you to the group.
IMPORTANT NOTICE!!! We also get together
for Moms Night Out every month or two (without the
kids!).
The location will vary each week,
so if you are interested, please contact the new coordinator
Lisa Chamberlain at
toddlers@stonelakes.net
for the details. If you prefer, use her phone number, which is
in your Stone Lakes Directory.
The Webmaster would like to acknowledge
Marle Trivedi for
her friendly leadership of this group for a couple of years, and
also to thank Lisa for stepping up to keep lead the group going
forward.
PARTY TO
WELCOME NEWCOMERS
The Annual "Welcome the Newbies"
party on Oct. 18th was a great success!
This was partly due to the
hard-working and energetic hosts: Ed and Monica Richmond, Dia
and Jim Tam, and Lisa and Steve Moreland. . .
It was partly due to the fun-loving
attendees who have been here in Stone Lakes for a while and are
friendly folks, always willing to extend a genuine welcome to
new neighbors. . .
And it was partly due to the guests
of honor: those who have moved here recently and chosen to get
involved, adding to the variety of backgrounds, experiences, and
interests that Stone Lakes homeowners share.
BRAVO to the hosts, and a HUGE
WELCOME to the newbies!

SOCIAL
EVENTS SURVEY
to view the questionnaire about social events in the
neighborhood. Please either print the page, fill it out,
and drop it off at Jennifer's or Dahlia's house... or save the
page, use the highlighter tool to mark your interest, and email
it as an attachment to
social2008@stonelakes.net
This is a prime opportunity to
be heard! You may have some great ideas for events, but
did not know who to tell or how to get them started.
PLEASE complete the survey, add your comments, and submit it to
one of the social directors.
Thank you!
4TH OF JULY
PARADE
CLICK

With the traditional Red-White-Blue

EASTER EGG HUNT & PETTING ZOO

To share your photos from this
event with your neighbors,
EMAIL them to Maureen.

Tennis Court Rules
&
Basketball Court Rules
Electric rates have risen, so it is IMPORTANT
to TURN OFF THE LIGHTS when everyone is finished using the
courts. The timer/control is north of the
main court entry gate. Also, for the preservation of our beautiful courts,
LOCK the GATES when you are finished playing tennis.
Linda Hayes oversees these facilities for Stone Lakes. If you would like
to reserve a court, you can sign up on the reservation schedule
inside of the courts, or just call Linda
before Sunday, and she will put your name down. (Refer to your Stone Lakes
directory for her number.) Your pool key
also grants access to the tennis courts. Questions?
