EGG HUNT AND PETTING ZOO

Social Committee has lined up the date for our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Petting Zoo.  This year, it will take place from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 21.  SEE IMPORTANT DETAILS HERE

Each child is to bring their own basket and adult chaperone.  Parents are encouraged to bring cameras, as there are always dozens of picture-worthy moments!

Teens, you can volunteer to help and earn community service hours for school.

GARAGE SALE

Saturday morning, April 24 is our springtime neighborhood-wide garage sale event.  It will begin at 8:00 am and end at 1:00 pm. Keep in mind that many buyers arrive very early; it is your choice whether or not to open your sale to them, since sellers are generally busy setting up and may not have time to deal with questions until 8 am.

On Friday evening, April 23, from 6:00 - 8:00, we will hold a preview sale for any folks wishing to participate.  This will allow our residents first chance at finding those super buys!  Maps and a listing of sale addresses will be available near both entrances.

For newcomers, we advertise this event and draw buyers from a wide area.  Each family that wants to sell items should place them on their own driveway, be sure they're clean, organized, and priced right... then enjoy the inflow of cash!  Good, useable leftovers can be donated to Angel's Attic in Grapevine (817-251-9451).  There is also a Goodwill drop site on Rte 26 in Colleyville, just across from the light at Pleasant Run/White Chapel Rd.

Again, email questions or offers of help to the Social Committee at social2008@stonelakes.net .

BLOCK PARTY

This event is planned for May. Check back for details that will be posted when available.

FALL FEST PHOTOS ARE HERE!

The 2009 Fall Fest was on Saturday, November 14 by the neighborhood pool. Jennifer Blanchard and Hyon Chin Keoughan worked tirelessly to create a festive atmosphere with plenty of fun activities for everyone there.

A big thank you goes to James Keoughan of Rd/Max Real Estate for sponsoring one of the ever-popular bounce houses!

PHOTOS are here!  Thanks go to Jennifer for the pictures.

KINDERGARTEN PHOTOS

Photos from the Kindergarten Round-Up and Back to School Social are HERE.  Social Chair Jennifer Blanchard took many cheerful photos to memorialize the event.

BUNCO GROUP

The Stone Lakes Bunco club is looking for some new members, both permanent and substitute, to join in on the fun and laughter.  They meet in the neighborhood with rotating houses on the 2nd Monday of each month.  (The houses themselves do not rotate, but the location of each party does!!... sorry, I couldn't resist.)

Participation costs only $5, and they will even teach you how to play!  If you are interested, please contact Beth Smietana.

POOL CONTACTS

To review the rules, please click here.  Kelly Kozel is our new  volunteer contact for keys and pool-party reservations.  Thank you, Kelly, for helping our community!

Kendall Goodman continues his work as Pool Director, giving his time graciously to make sure every area of the pools, decking, and building are in tip-top shape for your enjoyment.  Kendall deserves MANY THANKS for his impeccable work.

"YARD OF THE MONTH" AWARD

Do you have an eye for CURB APPEAL?  This program needs a new coordinator.  HOA Secretary Vivienne Reynolds has offered to help you.  Email nominations or offers to volunteer to: yardofMonth@stonelakes.net

HELP ANIMAL RESCUE FOR FREE

There are so many animal lovers in Stone Lakes that the following should be of interest to most of you.

Please click here to visit the Animal Rescue Website and click on the purple rectangle in the top right section of the page.  This triggers a donation of food from pet-food manufacturers (and other advertisers) for neglected and abandoned animals.  You can click once EVERY DAY!  Please put the link above into your favorites and help them as often as you can.  It only takes a few seconds.  Thanks so much!

You can help spread the word by copying and pasting these three paragraphs and emailing them to several friends in your email address book.  It will only take a few minutes, yet it will make a real difference in the lives of helpless animals.

NEW BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE

This group is active again, and we can expect a noticeable improvement in the appearance of the common areas, especially at both entrances.  Barbara King is leading the effort, and she welcomes your assistance.  Do you have an eye for landscaping or gardening?  Contact Barbara at Beautify@stonelakes.net

Teens can earn service hours for certain tasks such as spreading mulch and weeding flower beds.

TODDLERS PLAYGROUP                                     TOP

We invite you to join the Stone Lakes Neighborhood Playgroup.  The kids range in age from newborn through kindergarten, and the moms enjoy it almost as much as the kids do.  We meet on Friday mornings, usually from 10:00 am until noon.  Our favorite places include local parks, playgrounds, each others' houses, and other kid-friendly spots. Some members come every week, some only on occasion.  We look forward to welcoming you to the group.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!   We also get together for Moms Night Out every month or two (without the kids!).

The location will vary each week, so if you are interested, please contact the new coordinator  Lisa Chamberlain at toddlers@stonelakes.net for the details. If you prefer, use her phone number, which is in your Stone Lakes Directory.

The Webmaster would like to acknowledge Marle Trivedi for her friendly leadership of this group for a couple of years, and also to thank Lisa for stepping up to keep lead the group going forward.

TENNIS AND BASKETBALL

Click for Detailed Tennis Court Rules & Basketball Court Rules

Electric rates have risen, so it is IMPORTANT to TURN OFF THE LIGHTS when everyone is finished using the courts.  The timer/control is north of the main court entry gate.  Also, for the preservation of our beautiful courts, LOCK the GATES when you are finished playing tennis.

Linda Hayes oversees these facilities for Stone Lakes.  If you would like to reserve a court, you can sign up on the reservation schedule inside of the courts, or just call Linda  before Sunday, and she will put your name down.  (Refer to your Stone Lakes directory for her number.)  Your pool key also grants access to the tennis courts.  Questions?  Email Linda
